Michelle & Travis Underwood

Michelle Underwood has been a physical therapist in Las Vegas for 6 years working primarily with orthopedic athletic injuries and pediatrics. Michelle is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Michelle has a special interest in working with our youth with seeing many kids in physical therapy with either overuse athletic injuries due to not being conditioned for sports, or chronic pain injuries due to being inactive and out of shape.

Travis Underwood has been a middle and currently high school health and physical educator and coach of soccer and volleyball. Travis has implemented programs in school for kids to exercise at home as part of their homework and most recently as a health educator teaching kids about anatomy and physiology and the role exercise and nutrition plays in having a healthy lifestyle. As a coach, Travis has seen high level high school athletes come to play for him that have never been taught basic fundamentals of the game and are therefore getting trained inappropriately and suffering injuries.

Travis is also a pediatric heart survivor having gone through two open heart surgeries, one at eight years old and the other two years ago. He understands the importance of proper exercise and nutrition first hand and is now an active member of the American Heart Association battling heart disease. Together, Michelle and Travis feel through their extensive backgrounds that Fitwize 4 Kids is a fantastic place for kids to workout, learn sports fundamentals, learn about proper nutrition, and have fun in a place kids can work out with other kids and be motivated.
